The Mbombela Stadium which is just seven kilometers north of Nelspruit in Mpumalanga is expected to be completed in June 2009. The stadium has been designed as a relevant multi-sport, entertainment and exhibition venue. The stadium will have a capacity of just over 40,000. The stadium has been proposed for both the first and second round matches. The stadium will be specifically constructed to ensure that it meets all FIFA requirements for Soccer World Cup 2010.
