World Cup 2010 Qualifying Process and Statistics

 Only the host team South Africa automatically qualified for the final FIFA 2010 tournament. All other teams played a series of qualifying tournaments. The qualification tournaments were organized by six FIFA Confederations - AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa), CONCACAF (North America), CONMEBOL (South America), OFC (Oceania), and UEFA (Europe).

A total of 204 teams entered the qualification process of FIFA  2010. For the 2010 edition of FIFA World Cup the 31 qualified teams include 13 from Europe,5 from Africa, 5 from South America, 4 from Asia,3 from North-Central America and 1 from Oceania. 32 teams, inclding host South Africa will play in the final World Cup 2010 event. The first qualification matches were played on 25 August 2007 and qualification concluded in 18 November 2009.
